Here's some of my favorite folders they just remind me of the good old days

I thought this was kind of unusual for Imperial. Doctors knife with both blades tang stamped. Any one have an extra blade?

Joe, it's a Doctor Knife so it could have been a pen or spatula blade. I'm going to guess a pen on this particular knife. It doesn't look to me like a broken off spatula balde. Most common length for Doctor Knives is 3-5/8" closed.

Here are a couple old imperials. The old hatchet knife was the first knife Dad gave me and was made from 1930-1936. The stockman I picked up later on and it was made from 1936-1952. both are very well made knives that really take and hold and edge.

I think Adolph Kastors first brand( Imperial Razor Co.- circa 1880-1890) was somehow connected to the USA Imperial knife company but I`m not sure. Attached is a photo of my Imperial Razor Co. knife which I`ve had for quite a while. I think you can get a good view of the tang stamps if you expand the photo by clicking on it.

Here's an old Imperial. It is marked simply "IMPERIAL" with no "Providence" or "Prov" or "R.I.". Goins' dates this stamping to the "late 1920's".

She is a beauty! After carrying that pattern for a while myself I am starting to really apreciate the older ones.

This is an old Imperial that I bought yesterday. According to the tang stamp, this knife was manufactured between 1930 - 36'. Very good blade snap, and actually quite a bit of blade left on all 3 blades. Handles are full on both sides, no cracks. I don't think the knife was used a whole lot. Dale H.

That is a nice old bone handle Imperial

I've got this knife lately and I am wondering what do I have. It is whaler about 3.25" closed with artificial handles. I have never seen this pattern on Imperial knife, although I am far from being knowledgeable on this manufacturer. The knife looks new unused and unsharpened. Is it real? fake? I'll let the photos to speak

Hey Mike, nice lookin knife. From the tang stamp, it was made from 1956 to 1988. I'm gonna make a somewhat educated guess and say around the 1970s.

I don't know if this is the place to pose this question, but here goes:

I recently acquired a Hammer Brand camp/utility knife. The references I've seen state that Hammer Brand knives with solid bolsters were the pre-1931 product of the New York Knife Co, and that later hollow bolster specimens were made by Imperial. My knife has solid bolsters, but has the later style 'hook' can opener, which is marked CAN OPENER (all caps, but the C and the O being much taller) and Pat Pend. BTW, this knife has a pen blade instead of a leather punch/reamer.

Anyone know anything about solid bolster Imperial Hammer Brands and when the hook type can opener was actually introduced?
