Amazing knives in this thread. I've always liked NYK Co.'s jigging.

Here's a 3 5/8s moose by NYK Co that does not appear to have been carried or used.

Really great knives on this thread ! That Moose sure is Minty !! I mainly collect very early American autos partly due to my love for the hand pick bone scalesthat was used on them. I have noticed that some the NYK Co. knives will have the exact same "pick bone" bone scales that was used on a few early "Press Button Knife Co." which was a branch off of Walden Knife Co. and I have also seen the same style bone on the very earliest Schrade Cut. Co knives along with a few other Walden NY based Cutlers. I picked this little single blade NYK Co. knife up just for the pick bone scales . Great knives everyone !

i have a few hsb easy opens. i know nykc made some hsb knives. did they make all hsb knives or do i have to do research on each individual hsb? i,m still learning and forgetting more. thanks for any info.

2 5/16 inches of quality knife work.

Here is a 3 and 5/16ths old bone congress that I just love. Unfortunately the master blade was broke when I found it but the knife is still strong with great snap and half stops and the bone is just georgoius. It`s definitely in my keeper drawer but I`d sure like to find someone(Dale?) who could locate me a master blade and replace the broken blade. Its such a fine knife that it deserves the TLC.

Here is another pretty NYK knife. This one is 3 inches with blades closed and has some of the prettiest old handles. I`m not sure if they are dyed crosscut horn on some type of old bakelite/celluloid but they sure are nice. Blades and backspring are still strong on this one too. I think every NYK knife Ive run into over the years has strong snap and half stops even when the knife has obviously seen a lot of use. I agree with Bill(edgy). NYK made the finest knives as far as I`m concerned and it would be a pretty tough time if I ever had to let one go.

PS. I added some brightness/contrast so the designs in the handles could be better seen. The knife in hand is a dark marroon color and the designs in the handles are dark and somewhat hidden unless highlighted.

Picked up this one recently. It's a lockback that is 4.5 closed. Pretty minty except for a few tiny scratches on the shield side of the blade.
