All About Pocket Knives

Had this one with me working on the farm yesterday (got six tower stands ready for opening day of deer season) - this thing will cut a tie-wrap like butter! OH

Terry and Cody - you guys sure were gifted some fine knives - hope you use and enjoy them! OH

This is the 3rd. 110 I,ve owned. When I,m in the field I have a copperlock in my pocket and a Buck 110 on my hip.

I picked these up at a local thrift store for 5 bucks each.
One is a buck*110*, the other is an inverted Buck USA with two pins in the handle and brass pivot. The third doesn't belong here but is a 1970's Gerber Magnum

WhiteMountain - welcome to the Buck Sub-Forum and to AAPK - glad to have you here! You sure got your $5.00 worth on those Buck's (Gerber too I would imagine). For $6.95 each plus shipping the Buck Knife Spa at the plant in Idaho will make your two Buck knives look like new - to include shaping the blade back to original design and sharpening. Thank you "Old Hunter" I might have to do that. They are not in too bad of shape, but it sure would be nice to have them back to the way the were when new.

Really great scores for $15 total! Unfortunately, thrift stores here don't carry knives, and when they do, it's some piece of bargain bin junk with an excessive price tag stuck to it.

Well, it's from Buck as a buck custom shop knife but I'm guessing it was done by remer stone. There is one just like it except the steel and chip flint about to end on the auction site.

That pic really doesn't do it justice. I told the man I bought it from that his pics didn't do it justice. It's a fabulous knife. All nickel silver, no brass.

My 110 is from the late 1970s.
I carried it while in the US Coast Guard. An older CPO took out a little home made s/s fixie and carved my S in the brass end in fancy Old English!

Here is my 110....
I dug it out of one of my knife boxes while looking for folding hunters. I cleaned it a little and tried to figure out the YOM.
It has a dash on BOTH SIDES of the name. I am guessing 1992 since the code says "a dash" was used that year.
BUT, why is there a dash on both sides?
All the other date codes show up on the right side of the name.....

It is 1992. At some time during the year a change was made and the tang stamp went from a dash to a double dash. I can't remember the details of the change except it is nothing that can be seen.

I remember reading it was the change from 425M to 420HC in late January, 1992.

Only time I like to carry a knife that size is when I get my hunting gear all strapped on. Then, I want a big ole knife on my side.
