Thanks guys! I'll post more as soon as I take some of my own photos. My small collection is in flux. I've decided I'm drawn to the truly vintage scout knives (official and unofficial) so I'm selling several of the newer scout style knives I bought and purchasing old.

It's also funny how I have to have a knife in my possession before I can "really" tell if I'm going to keep it or not. It's a personal thing with me.

I pretty much ADORE campers cause they have that awesome Spear main blade!!!

I've been sharpening knives and testing them by slicing thin strips of paper.

Grandpas old 1919-1940 Case Camper is the KING of the slicers! A few other knives will slice as good and most will slice. Those that don't and have no significance in my life get a price tag and go in the bin for garage sale.

I've been looking for this Buck and finally found one.

Not REAL hot on that bail/hanger but oh that lovely blade!!!!

Another of my remingtons. Got this from Otto Acorn shield with one piece can opener and stubby screwdriver, c1923-1924. The main blade has been sharpened down quite a bit. But that just means it has been a well used and much loved knife. I'm a BIG fan of the acorn shields

That poor blade has been used or at least sharpened a LOT! I'd still tote it as long as it slices paper.

Thanks for posting yours Bob. As I suspected, I think my screwdriver is about 3/32'' short.

J.Plain Dave, That belt hanger bail isn't as unwieldy as it looks. The bail snaps down quite firmly over the handles, and stays in place. It doesn't interfere with using the knife in anyway and, I think, is less bother than a standard bail. Bet it looked real COOL too when in uniform, hanging on your belt instead of making a lump, hidden in your pocket !

That's probably the reason for the development of that belt-hanger bail. It's a "Chastity Bail".

Bob, I believe that's an Ulster utility. That bail was patented by either Albert or Henry Baer, I can't recall which. If I can find it in this mountain of paperwork I'll post it for ya. Nice knife!!
