Unquestionably fake. The knife with the bullet shield is a gunstock pattern. The original bullets did not include a gunstock pattern. The bullet shield is wrong. The tang stamps are not authentic. The bone is very wrong. It is a very egregious fake.Treasure Trawler wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 12:21 am Two knives. What do you guys think? Real or Fake?

Did Remington make any Gunstock patterns? Can’t seem to find any examples.

I'm not an expert, but:
The hafting on the handles is crude, so is the jigging. Shield is poorly placed. Blades obviously cold-stamped. I've seen knives made in Pak E. Stan of better quality.

The pictures are a little fuzzy, but it looks like the tang on that Toothpick was sanded heavily before it was stamped. Someone was probably trying to remove the original name.

I like fakes. They keep the values up on the real ones! J.O'.

Remington made a gunstock pattern. R683, R684, R685. This knife isn't one of them.Treasure Trawler wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 12:37 am Did Remington make any Gunstock patterns? Can’t seem to find any examples.
If you search those numbers you should be able to see all three.
