CASE $1 knife
CASE $1 knife
Anyone see this one
www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-RARE-CASE-TEST ... Sw6Jpfbg-l
The seller also has the 75 cent, 50 cent and the 25 cent. Wonder if he also has the very rare 15 cent variety?

Re: CASE $1 knife
I was just getting ready to post this. At least the seller says he doesn't know if it's vintage or modern. Looks well made ,nice bone, possibly German made,is it made by the same company making those Herrick Hardware knives? I would think if someone saw 4 mint knives of the same pattern with rare tang stamps that would date it from 1930's (at least 2 of them) that it would raise a red flag as to them being vintage. I am curious to see the final bids.

I appreciate that piece of honesty. "UNKNOWN VINTAGE CASE TESTED ONE DOLLAR 1 BLADE FOLDING Knife". Pretty sure there has been much discussion on this site regarding these "Case" knives.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: CASE $1 knife
Case never made $1 knife until Parker had one made around 1990. I’m not sure if that is one of them or not. Someone here, maybe knifeaholic, probably knows.

I haven’t encountered any of the ones Parker had made, but was of the understanding that they had wood handles.

When I blow up the picture of the back spring on my phone, I think I see some 'chatter' marks from a belt sander.
I am no Case expert, but I suspect that the knife has been apart at least, and at most may be a cobbled counterfeit.
My apologies if I am wrong in any if this.

They were definitely not made by Case or for Case.

Re: CASE $1 knife
Total fake Case knife and bidding is up to $127.50 with ~ 36 hours to go. Why don't potential bidders do a little online research ?

I have never seen the Case word scripted like that before.

It is stamped that way on the real 25 cent knife.

Re: CASE $1 knife
Thanks for posting that Mike. It should be noted that the real ones are a barehead jack. To best of my knowledge the one and only original legitimate version is a 25¢ version, barehead jack. The others - 50¢, 75¢, and $1, were not made by Case until Parker created them around 1990. Most of the fakes I have seen, like the example referenced in the OP, have two bolsters, that is, they’re capped.
Someone earlier in this thread asked about a 15¢ version. I believe that’s a unicorn - never existed. If someone has evidence to the contrary I’d be glad to see it.

Re: CASE $1 knife
seeing knives like this bring a tear to my eye. I love Ky and Tn but why would anyone buy knives from that area as there seems to be a counterfeit concentration there. Those knives will burn your hands. most knife collections I see have at least 2-5% counterfeits in them. We all have seen them and all have learned.
Thanks, DC

I'm the original poster and , of course, being a little facetious about the 15 cent version.
