I admit my naivety when it comes to these older knives, but this one must be a really special collectors knife to have sold for that kind of $$$. I know my lack of knowledge on these oldies doesn't provide the appreciation I'm sure they deserve. I can only imagine.

Whenever I see auctions that feature very nice old knives that go by, I wait to see them on the forums. They almost never do. There is a huge contingent of 'shadow' collectors out there with big money and they don't care to chit chat, do show 'n' tell or any other contact with the rest of us. The more money a rich guy has, the more fearful and private he becomes. I guess I will never have to worry about that. :lol:
