Very possible. During the war Case (and others) made knives without shields, due to shortage of nickel silver. Shields were considered a luxury. Nickel and brass, two major components of nickel silver, were needed for other things. ::nod::

That’s not a definitive answer that they did in fact make that specific pattern without shields. Just saying there were many patterns made that way. Someone may know for sure about that one.

Not a pattern I collect, and difficult to tell from the pictures provided. Can you get better pictures? AAPK member Robo collects toothpicks so see if you can get better pictures and get an opinion from him.

I saw that knife when it was on Ebay (twice) and the original buyer asked me about it. It is a fake, in my opinion. Bad handles, bad stamp.

Doesn't look good to me.

Day late and a dollar short but I believe you made a good decision canceling your order. I saw and pondered this one but got distracted and drobbed the ball running it up on Counterfiet forum. You were wise in asking and fortunately well advised. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you robo I was waiting for your reply I was informed you are the guy to talk to about these I have left multiple messages with no reply from seller I kindly asked him to cancel my order. I don’t like to cancel but when you are spending that kind of money you expect it to be authentic. I haven’t paid an don’t plan too it’s just I have 100percent positive feedback but any honest person should understand but you never know!
