My PAL's

These are two PAL Cutlery Co. knives I picked up a while back. They are the only ones I have and I'm just getting around to studying PAL and their knives. I would welcome any info you have, but do we have anything on AAPK that would help me determine a value on them, if so I haven't come across it yet. I believe the first one is from the early to mid 1950's and the second one late 1940's. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know much about them. I have a couple. I have at least one of the WW2 Pal navy pocket knives.

The best indicator of current value is to search completed sales on eBay of knifes in similar condition.
I am not a Pal expert, but at a glance I think that you are pretty close on the dates of these knives.
I have not seen as many people collecting Pal cutlery as I have Remington, but there should be enough interest in them.
I can say that they are beautiful knives!

I think Pal is one of the great, overlooked old brands. I've read that they started in the U.S. around 1935, bought Remington's closed operation in 1940 and used the old Remington machinery until about 1950. Quite a few of them have passed through my hands over the years, many of which had the black composition handles. Here are pics of 3 that I still have . The bone handle EZ opener just needed some cleaning, the cattle knife came with badly broken scales and I rehandled it in OD canvas micarta and haven't I gotten around to rejuvenating the utility knife yet. As you can see, the cattle knife is quite a sturdy, thick brute. I think they can still be had quite inexpensively and you can't go wrong with them.

Knice save on the cattle knife Herb. And the EZ opener bone handle knives are to me some of the prettiest around.

I would agree with herbva that the Pal knives are vastly under-rated and still obtained for reasonable prices. I have been accumulating them for some time now and I have yet to see a bad one. Here are some common and less common models:
A bunch of Pal Cutlery Co. letter opener knives including one handled in stag and etched Stocker Mfg. Co. The handles look to be original and it may have been a premium for Stocker as most of them were handled in faux pearl celluloid.
A Pal RH22 fish knife.I have these made by several different companies.
