Not sure about this CASE 516. Etching on blade say"TESTED XX STAINLESS".HELP

What is it you’re not sure about? Pictures of the whole knife would help.

Perfectly normal looking knife from what part I can see.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

The actual etching im not sure about."TESTED XX STAINLESS"

I think your knife is a 316-5 SSP hunter. 5" stainless steel polished blade. An early variation of the USA stamped knife with no pattern number and the "Tested XX Stainless" rather than later "Tested XX Razor Edge" blade etch. Not a particularly easy variation of the knife to find.

Would likely be the early part of the USA stamp era, 1965-1966.

I agree, I have a couple of 6254 folders etched xx stainless. Anybody have a ballpark price on value ?
