I recall seeing here on AAPK a solingen rostfrei knife with a seal like animal stamped on the blade. I am unable to find the thread and wish to know more about this knife as a local junk shop has one in reasonable shape.
Wishing to be more discerning,

Although they are both aquatic mammals, the stamp I saw was a seal not the otter shown in your link.
Thanks for the quick response. The seal hunt continues.

You did say a "seal like" animal. I do know the difference between an otter and a seal. Good luck with your "hunt."MT-Vessel wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 2:22 am I recall seeing here on AAPK a solingen rostfrei knife with a seal like animal stamped on the blade. Apologies if I inadvertently implied anything but gratitude for your response and link. I quite often have the taste of « foot in my mouth! »
The folder I saw was a wooden scaled, bareheaded, single spear blade, 4+ incher with a somewhat stylized seal stamped on the blade.
The hunt is still on.

No apologies are necessary because there is no problem. I didn't take what you said the wrong way. That's why I put the smiley face & thumbs up after my post.MT-Vessel wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 4:10 am Apologies if I inadvertently implied anything but gratitude for your response and link. I found the seal blade stamp I was looking for on an H. Dorwal knife posted by rangerbluedog in 2012.... H. Dorwal knives were made by Boker.
Mystery solved. On to the next one...
