Camillus 23 with Ivory Jigged Bone - Toasted

Post by Jeffinn »

I was putting ivory colored jigged bone handles on this Camillus and when it was done I just didn’t like it. So I disassembled it (again), removed the bone handles and decided to try adding a little color to them by lightly torching them.
They turned out better than I thought. Next time I need to be a little more consistent with the heat application. It’s something I’ll definitely try again. Still gotta do a little more cleanup and polishing on the bolsters but the handles look pretty decent;

Jeff, the scales look great toasted.
They look like the perfect marshmallow. Not burnt, just crispy.

Jeff did you notice that you only got compliments and not encouragements? That says something to the quality of your work. Great job in turning out a very desirable knife. ::nod:: ::nod:: ::tu:: ::tu::

I agree with Jerry, Jeff. You did a splendid with this un ::tu:: ::nod:: . Your torching job is a good as the master cutlers from Solingen Germany, GEC, S&M, ect. I think you have hit the point in your knife customizing that your work matches "THE MASTER" :wink: :mrgreen: . And what you are selling it for is extremely reasonable, IMHO.
Again great job, and congrats for "hitting it" ::tu::

Great job Jeff. Like has been said, I'm not a real big fan of toasted stag. But that toasted bone looks real nice. Very nice. That's a real looker.
