Welcome to AAPK!!! ::tu::

Marble's does not fall under my Bailywick, but that Marbles stamp does not look right to me, given the few I've seen or read about.

The other stamp is totally unfamiliar.

Curious Knife.

Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable than I will be along with definitive information.

This looks like a modern stamp to me, not sure about the other stamp.

A brief history, it has been in my and my fathers possession for about 50 years. I can’t remember if my grandfather passed this knife to my father or not.

Thanks for the responses guys. Hoping someone in this forum will have some added knowledge.

It was likely brand new fifty years ago. It is not a pre-WW2 classic Marbles knife. The Marbles marking is from the 1970s, I don't know what the mark on the back side is. The funny long guard and no pins in the stag handle indicate it is a very late knife.

Thanks guys! I see on the page posted 1961 as a date with the crown stamp, is it safe to say that is probably the year? Also, any ideas on value?

According to the Author it was a short lived mark,,,, 1961-63 would be my guess,,, someone might come along with better info. As far as
value,,, it's condition and with no sheath hurts the value. Myself I just liked fixed blades with the correct sheath. I have one like yours, Woodcraft,
Stag, mint with a mint sheath....Not for sell now, but If I every decided to sell it I would probably ask around $300 ,,, someone who keeps up with the Marble market ,,,,, should have a better estimate.

Thanks Tom! I appreciate you input... I am going to list it for about $150 and see what happens. I enjoy the research and collaboration to determine the history of items like this. Thanks again! Chip
