When there are pics to see what do you mean by "Period Correctness" ?
Some might say that no Traditional sytle knife is correct for this time period, that we all should have super steel & titanium knives that open on command: "Knife, open". "Thank you" "Knife, close". "Thank you". That is period correct for 2019.

Ha! I've been away from AAPK for a while, doing some work-related reading, and I come back to see this. Roland, that's genuinely funny! You've invented the IOT connected knife. I'm sure the modern modern knife will also have a Bluetooth radio for the option when you don't have WiFi available. I can see the little Bluetooth icon now, etched on the blade.
