Trade Knife

Post by muskrat man »

Finished this one up today, hand forged 5160 trade knife 1/8" stock, 6" blade, hand rubbed satin finish. Handles are faceted curly ash that I toasted, nickel silver lightning bolt pin configuration and a 9 oz brown bridle leather mt man style sheath with brass studs. This was one of my first forged blades that I never took the time to finish out and was heat treated prior to when I was stamping my blades, hence the lack of a marking. However this one stays with me so it isn't very important.

All the brass on your sheath must take a while but it sure is worth it. And the lightening bolt pattern on the knife handle really sets it off. I enjoy it when a craftsman keeps something for himself. Makes it a special one. Always enjoy your work Caleb. Thanks. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::handshake::
