Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

I still carry the remington knife that has the choke tube wrench .when I'm hunting. I sold all the rest except for 2 others . I still have a new utility knife in the little plastic bag.

With some leg work, good fortune, and a little cash (lol) I completed a full set of original Remington Bullet knives with this R4466. I had let a few of these go by over the years thinking a better one would come along soon. Well soon turned into a long time. :) It has a decent etch with mostly clean blades with nice stag and no cracks.

Roger, really nice R1253. ::tu:: ::tu:: I've noticed with the blade shape and the location of the etch on the R1253 the etch is usually difficult to see.
The etch on yours is bright and clear. The bone looks super nice, too.

Recieved a gift knife from Lee, "longblade" today. Very good condition, got to looking it up in my book and couldn't find it. No pattern stamp, with a screwdriver can opener blade. After digging a little deeper, found my hangover shoe knife was just like it. Same knife as a R1773 but instead of a pen blade the can opener blade. Wonder if only advertising knives came with that blade? Thanks Lee.

Apparently spell check has had to correct that misspelled word before. That's funny.

A knife I believe to be factory original. A R3414
All my reference books, old and new say it has an acorn shield and a long pull. Not this one.
Sorry Rocky. R3413.

?????? What are you trying to say Keith. Your own book says a R3414 is pearl. The one you are showing is not pearl and has a tang stamp Of R3413.
Dosen’t appear to match because it appears to be pieces and parts of knives.??????

Rocky, it doesn't appear to have been messed with. If it was messed with the punch and main blade aren't original to the knife.
