Re: Case & Case related knives over 100 years old
Thank you everyone for the gracious comments on the WR Case & Sons 6294J.
Below are pictures of another old 94 and one of my favorite knives - old or new. This one is a 6394 also marked WR Case & Sons Bradford Pa. It has red Winterbottom handles, fIat grooved bolsters and all blades are swedged with long pulls. The frame of this 6394 shares some characteristics with the previously posted 6294J.
You will notice the width of the main spear blade from the blade edge to the spine is of this knife is narrow and the blade sits low in the blade well. There is no blade loss. The knife was made this way because the sheepsfoot also has its nail nick facing toward the front of the knife so the primary blade is lowered to accommodate opening the sheepsfoot. All of the Tested XX 3 blade 94 patterns I've seen have the secondary nail nicks on back (pile) side of the knife. I've seen Bradford 3 blade 94 knives made both ways. All of the 3 blade gunboat (94X) variation knives I have seen (not many) have the secondary nail nicks on the back (pile) side.
Thanks for looking.

Junk Store find. WR CASE/& SONS/Bradford PA. Pattern number B232. Waterfall covers have shrunken and has some lines in them, don't seem to be any out gas fancy bolsters and gun stock frame. Poor picture, Need new scanner I think. Any a old Case knife.

Harold, your B232 is a nice find. I can't tell if the bolsters have double indentations or if the lighting gives them that appearance. The slender profile curved blade is fancy too

Re: Case & Case related knives over 100 years old
Here's one that could be 100 years old. If not then it should be by December. I picked this old greenbone 6151from the Bradford era up last Sunday.

Greg, your Bradford 6151 is a beauty! It has a lot going for it with beautiful bone with crisp jigging, the raised letter arrowhead shied, and the crisp stamps including the pattern number. Fabulous old knife.

Jerry, Larry thanks for the kind words. I'm really growing fond of that 51 pattern and that one is a pleasure to hold.

Roger, that’s a fantastic find! I’m thinking it may be one of the early members of its kind?
