Sorry for the bad pictures my sister sent them via text. She knows I like scout type knives. This appears to be a pre 1920. The main made looks to be short by 1/2”. They are asking $55.
She said both scales are good.
Anyhow is it worth getting? Thanks for your input.

Re: Old Case Scout worth getting?
Tom that Case Tested knife is from 1920-40. I believe it is from the earlier part of that probably 1920-30. If I am wrong one of the guys will come along who are true experts and correct any misinformation I may give. The shield is an early scout shield and is sought after. Looks like the green bone scales are nice and the can opener is stamped tested as well. The punch looks full as well. I believe that is still a good deal for that knife. I would buy it and try to find a replacement period blade to restore it back to its glory. If you decide to do that be very careful taking it apart as to not damage the scales. Like I said if I was somewhere and saw that knife for $55 I would buy it but that is me. Good luck if you get it and if you don’t let me know. Happy new year!Twhite wrote:Sorry for the bad pictures my sister sent them via text. She knows I like scout type knives. This appears to be a pre 1920. The main made looks to be short by 1/2”. I passed it up.edge213 wrote:I would like go know more about the little celluloid teardrop.Twhite wrote:Sorry for the bad pictures my sister sent them via text. She knows I like scout type knives. I will go back this weekend and take some pictures for you on the teardrop. I will need to bring a loop. I looked at that too. They are not flexible on the prices unfortunately.
Shoot me a PM if you want me to send you some pictures when I go back.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade. That looks like it is fairly used. If you need to take even
more off to get it straight and sharp I would think again.
I bought a nice one ( not home now so do not know the number) that had the blades really spent.
I would wait for a better one if I had a do over.

I agree w/ Bob on that. I would pass on a knife in this condition at that price. However I am not an expert on these Scout knives.rea1eye wrote:Don't want to rain on anyone's parade. That looks like it is fairly used. If you need to take even

I guess the question that hasn’t been answered is are you buying it to use or as a collector piece? That might make a difference on what you should pay.

I use what I buy. That being said I do like them to look good and have a decent blade.
