Camillus #33

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus #33

Post by stockman »

Found at a flea market nice older knife. Rogers bone nice full blades. Needed a little oil, some simi-chrome and a few minutes. Also still trying to improve my scans. Getting some better but not like my old equipment. I like to sell on AAPK but my pics are to poor now.

Harold, is that a 4-line stamp or a short-line stamp?

Very nice EZO, Harold; I love the bone! My flatbed scans suck. That is one reason I have dragged my feet on selling. And my camera skills are pretty weak as well.

I agree with the others - that's a beauty!

A modern cell phone will take much better pictures than a flat bed scanner. The biggest issue is getting good, diffused light that doesn't create shadows or glare. That's where I struggle, not because I don't know how, but I just don't have the patience to do the required lighting set-up.

You're right Tommy. That's the generally accepted time span. I can't prove it but personally, I think it's more like 1946 - mid 1950s or even a skosh later.

Skosh is applicable to the general time frame in question (in this case years), also applicable to weights and measures.

'Smidgeon' is a smaller unit of measurement than a Skosh and an RCH is even smaller yet. You need a good set of calipers to measure an RCH (and a very willing red head). ::woot::
