Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Jerry, those are fantastic! Especially that Marine Corp retirement knife. I remember when Glennbad posted pics of it after he completed it. I didn't realize it was yours. Hands down the best and most thoughtful mod I've ever seen.
No, no Rick. Not mine. It was for one of Glenn's relatives. I gotta say though, it's one of the classiest ones I've ever seen.

Thanks for the comments. I have thought about a different handle on this 23. Very nice examples all of you shared. I love the hefty blade on it. And you can put a really sharp edge on it no problem!
Here's a 67 I got with it. A little wobble in the main blade buy not terrible. It's a keeper ::tu::

Picked up my 11th Camillus 14 off eBay today. I am such a sucker for these medium Jacks.

My first #23 just walked in. It's a short underline. Blades are pretty good. The handles are a bit scratched.
Should clean up nicely.

A coupe of new ones just walked in.
A #23 and a #8.... Did all the #8's come with a leather chord?

Thanks Jerry.... Seems like most of the pics I have seen have the leather chord in the handle.

Hello Everyone! I'm still new to collecting so I was wondering about this knife. I just got it in and I have studied up on Camillus but there is no visible pattern number. Just curious because I like the knife. Any knowledge will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to AAPK.

Pre-WWII Serpentine Jack with those funky hard cream colored synthetic handles (no idea what they named those handles). It was molded to look like Stag. They didn't stamp the tang with a pattern number prior to WWII.

This thread is here to remind me that I have to get my hands on a 23.

Here are some more of my Camillus knives. A few are contract knives and some of those are shown next to their Camillus-branded brethren.

I picked up this Camillus #18 Jack at a gunshow last weekend for $3, it was kind of rough. But it cleaned up good and now is an EDC. Some people don't like the staglon handle material on these, but I can always rehandle it to something more interesting if need be.

Good score Olde Cutler. Camillus Staglon seems to age well and looks better as it goes.

Gentlemen. "Staglon" is a Schrade name. Camillus called it "Indian Stag". ---► viewtopic.php?t=36483

Forgot about this thread when I posted this Camillus 697 Riggers Knife that I recently acquired. The spike is a tad wobbly in the closed position but other than that she's tight and Snapping Turtle snappy.

I have a British navy knife from the late wartime period (44/45?) that has the same curiosity, Jerry. The marlin spike is tight as can be when open, but when closed it has play of about 1/8" at the tip. Not a big deal by any means (who uses the spike closed anyway??) but I wonder if it's a coincidence or if a lot of folding marlin spikes experience this phenomenon.
