Union Cutlery Co.
I am aware that Kabar was a union cutlery, but this has I believe mfrs ( I can't tell if the second letter is F ) above union cutlery co. It also doesn't say where it was manufactured. I know that it's old and deserves to remain..any knowledge of this knife would be greatly appreciated. ~ JP

You have an extremely rare knife there. it was made by the Union Cutlery Company of Chicago, Illinois. They were in business for about 2 years from 1887 to 1888. They are not related to the Union Cutlery Co of KA-Bar fame and pre-date them by about 20 years or so.

Thanks for the info st.Louis knives. I looked for anything on the knife but could find nothing. I thought it was old, but never thought 1880s. Very cool..

This is from Goins. It looks to be the top mark. MFRS UNION CUTLERY CO. 1887-1888

I was actually after a keen kutter on Ebay and viewed the sellers other items. She was listing both for her husband and agreed to sell me both.
