His Keith ,
The nehi knife had a federal type shield and is fairly common .
This R4393 with a plain small acorn shield is a rare knife and I believe only made early on around 1920-23ish . I knew the knife existed just never seen one in person or for sale .

Picked up his RB44 Barlow, pretty sure it was an almost unused knife, you can still see the original factory grind on the blades but it sure sat somewhere humid for a very long time. Still, it's tight and snappy and I kind of like the patina.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I feel stupid. I didn't even look close enough to notice the acorn shield. Very nice.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
The lockback stag whittler is probably the best one in existence. It is owned by a good friend of mine. I have had the wonderful opportunity to purchase several of his wonderful Remington knives. While a big price, if I owned it, I probably would not take a dollar less. I bought a really rare mint pearl Norfolk whittler from this collector. It was expensive but I feel every dollar worth it. It’s a very small club of collectors that own mint lockback and regular Norfolk whittlers. I feel lucky. Take care.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Any help with this one greatly appreciated. This will be my second Remington after a R3333. These are my photos but not my knife YET. It's worn as you can see. Nail pull is cracked and no snap on closing. Very minor blade wobble, but snaps open and lockback works good. I was wondering what a fair price to pay for the knife would be, considering how bad I would like to have it, still don't want to go crazy with it. Thanks for any input good or bad.
