Re: What Schrade RARE knife do you have
Roland, the catalogs last show the 835Y with the spey and pen secondary blades in 1961 and in 1962 it changes to a sheepsfoot and spey secondary blades.
I've noticed some of the same 3 5/16" size swinden stockmans have a large pen blade instead of a spey, I presume these are earlier examples as those same patterns seen usually have a regular spey blade.

This one is Delrin. It does have the 'real' pin. Big pin crack.

Thanks Paul, confirms mine is from before Delrin (aka "Derlin", "Hey Derlin, what's for supper tonight").
I wonder if Boker subcontracted to Camillus for the Primbles ? The bigger question is: did a manufacturer with a contract to make knives with a specified marking ever sub-contract out the work to another knife manufacturer ?

I posted this in the Keen Kutter thread but it also adds to this discussion with the recent birdseyes posted. This is a black celluloid '883' (it's an 835) made for Keen Kutter in the late 50s/maybe early 60s.

That's the same as a cut S8373, definitely not common to find.Jacknifeben wrote:This might be a “rare” SCHRADE?. Jack knife ben contracted these back in the 30,s. Master blade is ink etched JACK KNIFE BEN HANDY DANDY.

Pictures of a Schrade Walden NY USA 730 Farmer Jack. Maybe the pattern with this mark is not so rare, but this example is in really good condition.

Your mint farmer's jack is both rare and very desirable as a collector. One of the very best to hit the gallery here in Schrade Land. Thanks for showing it!

Jerry that's one of the finest farmer's jacks I've seen, what a prize! That was likely made very shortly after the change to Schrade Walden, you might as well consider it a Cut Co.
Hak that's gorgeous! You guys are showing some top shelf knives here.

Re: What Schrade RARE knife do you have
RalphAlsip and Hak1911 those are both outstanding and rare Schrade Cuts especially in that condition!! Beautiful vintage folders!
Here is a Schrade Cut No. 2103 3/8 Hunter’s and Traper’s Knife. Got it at the OKCA show a few years ago. In near perfect condition. Never been sharpened post production. Peachseed jigged bone handles are perfect condition. Great blade action—very smooth and silky with no lateral blade play when open. Found the catalog rendering and description in the 1934 Schrade Supplement.

Eric, I thought that that stamp on Jerry’s beautiful knife was the last Schrade stamp. I have one stamped Walden NY no USA, which I thought was after the Cut Co stamp.
Schrade seems to be the most prolific manufacturer of the farmers jack pattern.

Re: What Schrade RARE knife do you have
The farmer jack, cigar jack and hunter are unbelievable! My knife here isn't quite that shiny, lol. I grabbed this 137 as soon as I saw it listed because it's a wonda edge and I'm trying to track them all down but I didn't realize what a rare bird it was. The 137LWE was never in a catalog and after looking for info I found out only 62 of these were ever made.

Just perused this whole thread & except for Dweb's Schrade Walden 14K Gold version on the very first page, I did not see another...
so here's an older Cut Co. Lobster that I picked up from Bob Pomerantz (associated with the Warwarsing Knife Museum) at the Lehigh Valley Knife Show a couple of weeks ago... along with the listing from the 1926 catalog...

Wow guys, some great knives being posted, beautiful knives all.
Picked up this scarce 292 Fish Trapper, close to unused condition, love the fish shield, I understand these were only available for a couple years.
