"Ormiston & Glass" ?

Post by kootenay joe »

Here is a nicely made 3 1/2" equal end whittler marked with what looks like "Ormiston/& Glass/Sheffield". The secondaries are both marked "Sheffield/England". Neither LG4 nor Goins shows this name. Perhaps there was another letter before the "o" in "Ormiston" ? It could be a merchant name.
Have you seen this brand before ? All help will be appreciated.
thanks, k.j.

I can't help, but I am inclined toward the merchant theory. What a lovely knife! ::tu::

Thank you Charlie for finding & posting all this info. Perhaps O & G had some knives made for them and they sold these as well as pens ? If they were a knife manufacturer i think the name would be in Goins & LG4 and some of us would have seen other knives with this name.
