need help identifying Sheffield Bowie hunter
I have a stag Sheffield Bowie hunter and I can make out "......bridge" (I think) and under that "Cutlery Works" and under that Sheffield. I went through my references books and came up empty for what the first part of the name is. Thanks for any help or ideas. There is nothing else on the face of the blade or on the reverse side. ___Dave

I don't know if this will help. I have spent more on my knives than on my camera and sometimes it shows. ___Dave

Thanks Miller Bros. If that is it, it's no wonder I couldn't find it in Levines Guide. He lists it as Cambridge & Co. US Navy contractor. Goins lists it as Cambridge Cutlery Co. Sheffield England, and neither have a good date when the started. Maybe this was an earlier name and stamp. ___Dave

I found a few on line stamped Cambridge Cutlery Works but still don't know if it was the same company as Cambridge & Co. or Cambridge Cutlery Co.____Dave

Dave, the ones in Britain are likely all the same company. Once a knife manufacturer registered their name "Cambridge" i cannot see another cutlery manufacturer also being allowed to use the same name.
