Very nice!
I have never understood the logic of putting a manicure blade on a rope knife. It seems the common practice to do so.

I have heard that the reason for the manicure blade was the spread of disease among the troops by unsanitary nails. The standard issue of the manicure blade was to help these conditions according to what I understand.

Just as out fingernails can get broken & jagged from trying to open a tight knife, sailors 100 years ago similarly broke fingernails on heavy rope knots and much manual labor. The ability to file smooth a jagged broken fingernail allowed the sailor to fully use his hands again. A partially broken off fingernail really gets in the way. We all know the unpleasant feeling and the sense of relief when the nail gets trimmed smooth.
