How Old Are You?
This thread is actually related to the "Traditional Knife Market" thread. ---► viewtopic.php?p=621501#p621501
I just feel like this poll has been taken before but my searches were unproductive because the criteria contained too many common words. Sooo, here we go again. There is no need to post if you don't want to but I would ask that everyone respond to the poll and yes, I'm talking to all the Lookee Loo Lurkers who read but never or seldom post.
If you happen to know where the other poll is or are more persistent in your searches and find it, please post a link here. It would be interesting to compare results.
I think the results of this poll could shine some light on the future of AAPK and the world of knife collecting, mainly traditional's but actually all knives. I could be wrong. It happens more frequently than I would like but only time will tell and I probably won't be around to observe the answer.

I had to vote before the end of February because I slip a bracket after that.

Interesting ... but what I would find even more interesting is if there's a way to break it down further. I'm completely going out on a limb and making a gross generalization absolutely without merit ... but I'd be willing to bet the most of the under 40 crowd largely prefers modern tacticals; the 40-60 crowd prefers modern Case, GEC or similar high quality currently manufactured knives; and the over 60 crowd prefer's the collectible vintage knives that they have a connection to from fond memories of their youth. I could be totally off base, but I bet I just might be onto something
pffffft that's not a knife ......... now THAT'S a knife !! Crocodile Dundee

Re: How Old Are You?
Well there's two who are going to "trip a transfer" this year. I wonder how many more there are.
You could be on to something there John but I'll have to be the exception that proves the rule. I prefer newer knives, I guess because I'm a Magpie, I like shiny.

I might be in a minority. I'm 54, and I like tacticals, newer traditional and old traditional all the same.Lansky1 wrote:Interesting ... but what I would find even more interesting is if there's a way to break it down further. I collect all three categories. As a matter of fact I usually carry all 3 every day.

You tagged me right. I'm 55, 56 in May, and I do prefer the modern Case. I also have a couple of modern Queens in the mix.Lansky1 wrote:Interesting ... but what I would find even more interesting is if there's a way to break it down further. I don't have, nor care to own, the modern tactical.
The modern Cases I prefer do put a stretch on the funds, so that certainly puts the collectible vintage knives out of reach.
Take care and God bless,

Whenever I get to feeling old, I'm going to turn to this poll.
I can remind myself that I am younger than 50% of the people on AAPK!

I'm 55. New to knives but carrying a GEC and a Swiss Army while I wait for some older traditionals to get fixed up. Tactical folders don't appeal for some reason.
