Came across this on Ebay this morning. A mixed lot of knives, mostly Fightin' Roosters, all of which are rusted, pitted and suffering from Celluloid Outgas Syndrome, an often fatal disease.

Charlie, that is a sad situation! Probably been stored and what a surprise!
A question not about outgassing but on one of the knives. Are you able to determine the manufacturer of the double barreled muskrat? Is it a Fightin' Rooster, too? A member sent me a RR Canoe like that and they are truly a puzzle to me. Do you have any thoughts about the origin of such knives? A regular muskrat is a practical knife but with the extra width of the handle I believe it would not feel good in the hand, I know the double barreled Canoe is very awkward.

Re: Outgas Auction
If you are referring to the dog bone shaped knife, it's Fightin' Rooster.
The scissors are Case and the little black handled pen knife is a Robeson, which is why I looked at the auction in the first place.

Re: Outgas Auction
The worse part about outgasing is cell scaled knives stored with other knives can take out your whole collection. I keep my cells away from other knives and out in the open where I can keep a close eye on them.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
