Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
Looking for knowledge here.
Pardon my ignorance but what does it take to qualify as a "Slenderino"? Is it a Serpentine Stockman with a Turkish Clip main blade or maybe a Muskrat main blade that does the trick? Does a Schrade #861 qualify? or a Camillus #69 (even though this is the Schrade forum)? What do the judges say about a Schrade 293 with what looks to me like a California Clip main?

Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
I would say a slim stockman with round bolsters and a serpentine frame in the 3 1/2" to 4" range. Certainly the Camillus 69 and Schrade 61 patterns qualify. Forum member Tongue River came up with the term. What do you say Cal?

Pure Schrade Love, Hal; good to hear from you.
Here is an 896Y on top, with an 890Y. Celluloid goodness. 896K in celluloid, OVB etch 861 bone (this is the larger slenderino, closer to four inches)

That is what I had in mind. I never thunk of the muskrat, but it snuggles right into that profile, I guess. And I really like muskrats, too!thawk wrote:I would say a slim stockman with round bolsters and a serpentine frame in the 3 1/2" to 4" range. Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
I noticed that many of these knives, and in fact all of the knives that Hawk posted have what is more similar to an upside down Wharncliffe.
This is a blade style that I have never noticed before... It has a balanced, kind of sexy look to it.
Nice Knives!!!

Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
I would think that if you placed a straight edge along the spine that would be dead flat.
Is their an official name for that blade style? I actually like it... bunches.

Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
This style led to me searching around a bit. I can understand the "California /Turkish Clip" moniker for the blade shape.
I did find something interesting relating to the Turkish aspect... A Yatagan. An Ottoman Empire blade design that is amazingly close to these blades.
I just found it interesting...

Re: Post your Slenderino Knives
Would this qualify as a slenderino? Been carrying this one off and on for nearly 10 yrs. now. One of Muskrat Man's early works.

Here's another one. I believe these had sterling silver bolsters and shield, but I'm not sure. They could optionally come with a glass display dome, which I think may still be in one of the AAPK stores. This one is available.
