Buck creek knives and buck creek indian head knives
Buck creek knives and buck creek indian head knives
Can anyone tell me a good book that gives info on both of these knives or at least one of these knives? And i am new to collecting knives. But my grandpa had left me some buck creeks and some indian head knives and i am needing to know how to date these knives. I really would appericate any info thanks.

Post your question under the general knife forum.You probably won't get an answer here.This is Buck specific knives.Buck Creek are German made.

I do not know of any book that gives useful information about Buck Creek knives.
The difficulty with this brand is how to tell the original ones, 1976 to about 1989, from those that were made later, in Germany, but might not be to the same quality standard. The Buck Creek knives being made now are marked China. These are not collectible at this point but might be a very good user knife.
Watch out for off gassing of the B.C. knives with celluloid handles. I have had at least 10 of these off gas and deeply corrode the blades and eat through the brass liners.
I suggest that you only keep the stag and bone handled ones. Do not keep the cell handled ones. Sell them cheaply now or at a minimum separate them from being close to any other knives.
