A little birdie told me GEC's shut down this week (no reason given) so the way production has been going, the forum knife could very well be delayed into the first half of November. Only time will tell.

Looks like some photos are up on site, and they're close to being ready. I also noticed some centered shields and some off centered shields. I wonder if both versions will be available to all.

Good eye there, Ryan. I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. I wonder if there's another surprise lurking in there somewhere.

Your best course of action to get a club knife is to check the forum daily several times each day. When you see the announcement buy them immediately, they seldom last more than two days.

Last year, they lasted slightly over 24 hours (IIRC).

FYI since the only place I've seen it come up is GKD, the AAPK knives are in pre-order now. 73 en route to Bryan and another 27 to follow after. ::ds::

Greg, I don't think they are in the store yet. Not physically anyway. The ad says they just shipped from GEC today.

Bryan doesn't have 'em in hand yet, but he should be receiving just under 3/4ths of the order by midweek or so and the store is taking orders now.

Got mine on the way! ::groove:: Hoping all the mailmen are working in doubletime next week.

Only thing I don't like is that the shipping cost seems to be based on the USPS flat-rate box which I know for a fact can fit at least five tubes of #35s inside, 4 with decent padding around it. I really don't feel like paying that much for shipping but there's no mechanism for combining shipments. ::disgust::

Regardless, thanks to Bryan for undergoing the effort in making this knife available to the forum. Looks like it's gonna be another home run!

The software is supposed to base shipping on weight for these knives. It appears to be a bit skewed too far upward when calculating cost on multiple items. Especially when mixed with shirt(s) or hat(s).

I also entered weight for each as if it were shipping in it's own box, which doesn't help...

I'll be sure to refund overages to anyone who buys more than one item from the AAPK store & get the calculator more accurate in the near future.

You're a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for undertaking this mammoth effort, it is very much appreciated by everyone here. ::handshake::

Now I just need to make myself not get impatient as the wheels start in motion. Way I figure it, one day soon a box will show up and the rest of the day will greatly improve.

Railsplitter that knife was more temptation than I could stand. I don't actively collect GEC knives but I've got one just like yours headed my way. (They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ya know) 8)

I was offered to change my Yellow Rose to Banana Bone because I had a Yellow Rose on reserve. I declined and that's all I know but I assume at least a few will be available at dealers.

Thanks Railsplitter. I'll keep checking my favorite dealers and see what turns up. Not too concerned if I miss out though...

Looks like we can't escape flippers even here on AAPK...

https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... ket-knife-

$175 plus shipping for a knife that retails right now at ~$100, and not even with a "Make Offer" option? ::uc::

I guess people are betting on this latest run of smooth yellow rose being the last? ::shrug:: ::facepalm::

I don't know, Tony. That same seller has an Ebony Churchill for listed for $150. None of my business really but it is interesting.

I can't wait to get my AAPK Churchill. I'm pretty excited about it.

Might have been smarter to wait until they were no longer available from dealers.

Same here. ::groove:: Having carried the ebony 35 a few times already I am enamored with how much knife it is in such a slim package. And for an equal-ender it snaps just fine for me, though I have seen reports here of the yellow rose bone having no snap at all (hoping mine snaps acceptably).
