Vintage SCHRADE military pocket knife

Post by mmmorici »

I'm looking for some help regarding the purchase and sale of vintage pocket knives with automatic or switch blade mechanisms like this SCHRADE (paratrooper?) pocket knife. These appear to be legal in some states and illegal in others. Is this true for military issue knives? Thanks.

(a) Prohibited. – A person may not sell, barter, display, or offer to sell or barter:

(1) a knife or a penknife having a blade that opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring, or other device in the handle of the knife, commonly called a switchblade knife or a switchblade penknife…
