Remington stuff (except knives)

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Had that for a pretty long time not sure if I still have info on it but will look in the next few days currently at work on rotation in the hospital. Not sure if it was a part of or an affiliate of The Remington Arms Co. but back then if it had Remington on it was something I liked I bought it! ::super_happy::

::rotflol:: ::rotflol:: ::clapping:: ::clapping:: ::watching_you:: ::not_saying:: ::rotflol:: ::rotflol:: Yeah, I'm sure your finding it hard to relate! LMAO!!

No regrets Keith...No regrets.

If memory serves,(and it doesn't sometimes) I think this was part of the Remington Family of R.I.( don't know if they're of the Remington Arms Family) "might be hiney hole kin" can't remember. I think it was Thomas Elliott Remington and his father or brother that started the dairy company in the 1930's. I think they went out of business in 1970. Will look through my stuff and let you know in a day or so. ::nod:: ::sotb::

Found this on my phone's camera... this will help.

Very cool stuff guys. Just got this in the mail today. Remington Modern Firearms and Ammunition Catalog No. 107 from 1923. Has their full line of firearms, ammunition, gun care products etc. Even has black powder percussion primers and friction canon fuses! As a bonus, at the very back is a cutlery section complete with full page bullet knife ads!

Rocky,
I was able snag this’s catalog off of Ebay and am very pleased with it. The quality of the printing and illustrations is great. I love the historical perspective these old catalogs give us.

How 'bout a 1939 Westfield made Remington Lit Brothers Special Deluxe Bicycle Badge from Lit Brother's Dept. Store.

The pictures of the actual bike are from an internet resource. I do not own the bike , just the badge. ::dang:: ::nod:: ::tu::

That bike is AWSOME!!!!!!! I like that you have a badge. You know what's horrible. I went to our local antique mall yesterday and they had some old bikes there. I was digging threw them hoping there was a Remington in the bunch. ::facepalm::

Here is an old tin of Remington no. 10 percussion caps. I collect old muzzleloaders and accouterments so this is a nice crossover with my Remington stuff.

Those are nice and very informative. Looks like they are the same or near same pictures that were copied by the authors in some of the Remington catalogs and Remington reference guides. Very nice! ::tu::

Thanks guys! One thing that is odd about this McClung catalog is that ONLY Remington Knives are featured. McClung sold many brands including their own house knife brand. A collector told me that wholesalers would sometimes sell catalog space to companies to exclusively feature their products.

Mountainad82 got me looking threw some of my catalogs and I think this one is a little different. It's not very many pages so I thought I'd just take pictures of them all for you to enjoy.
