sword cane?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

sword cane?

Post by mrwatch »

Hi, I just seen at a antique mall a sword cane with a write up of information. price $300 so a little beyond me. say's 18th century Portugal and maybe a bit of gold on the cap for the handle. This is in Michigan, so in actuality even though you would never carry it, is it a possible felony to posses it. ::shrug:: I realize we are not attorneys giving a legal opinion here but if it is okay to have or a legal procedure to follow I may look at it while my wife is not following me. it looks like a gentle mans walking stick.

I do not know about sword canes but i have bought old walking canes on line. There are many fancy walking canes said to be from 1800's that are in fact recent production, i.e. fakes.
I suspect the same is true of sword canes.
If you take good in focus pics of entire cane and sword and post them here somebody might be able to say if vintage or fake.
