#35 AAPK Churchill
#35 AAPK Churchill
I was reading the GEC website and see this. Is there any details out there? I don't have any 35s myself, but the Queen/S&M baby sunfish from the early 2000s (Bill Howard at Queen era) has alot of similarities and imho one of the finest pocketknives of all time. Very excited.

Looks to be the 2017 AAPK Club Knife will be a #35 with clip & sheepfoot blades --- but did not specify material or color yet ( handle material TBA ) !!! Northfield with bone, would get my vote !!!! --- Bryan, has always done an outstanding job picking the knife particulars and I'm sure he will this time !!!

Good to see it on the schedule and thrilled about the pattern for the forum knife. Looking forward to the details (thought this thread might be the one! ) but it seems a guarantee I'm gonna get it.

Re: #35 AAPK Churchill
I might be interested in one of these depending on the handle material but I'm not familiar with the AAPK process. Will there be a topic started with updates and instructions on how to purchase?

Re: #35 AAPK Churchill
The 2016 knife came after what I believe was a little prodding of a very busy Bryan at the time. I'm assuming from the fact that GEC already has a production order on the schedule that we are waaaay ahead of 2016 and Bryan has already started the process. I haven't been around for a week so I didn't see any actual threads, but last time one thread came up to gauge interest and provide details, then once a count was taken knives were ordered which we got towards the end of the year (GEC 74 clip). Since I'm already preparing myself for the TC Barlow "lolly scramble" online I am a little apprehensive about how quickly notifications for this knife might hit, or what the production count is. I know I am going to try and get at least one of any flavor, and depending on circumstances maybe one for the EDC pile.
Last year's knife was eminently reasonable price-wise and a very, very nice piece of cutlery. I have little doubt this year's will be any different.

Thanks Tony. If there is a thread created, would it be in the General Knife Discussion sub forum?

If my memory isn't failing me these days it was in General where the "official" thread took place, but that entire process may be up in the air now that GEC is already scheduled to work on 'em. YMMV.

And the Bull Moose and Calf Pen Jack - this will be my first foray into the GEC feeding frenzy but this looks like a fairly pricey bit of chum in the water.

I believe Bryan sent an email last time announcing them and there was also a thread posted from where you could buy them.Railsplitter wrote:Thanks Tony. If there is a thread created, would it be in the General Knife Discussion sub forum?

Re: #35 AAPK Churchill
Referencing GEC's production schedule ( http://greateasterncutlery.net/blog/pro ... -schedule/ ) it appears (SWAG) they will be ready to ship late this month or more likely the first half of next month. Keep your eye on GEC's "What's in Production".Railsplitter wrote:Has anyone heard or seen any updates?

I guess I'm used to having to pre-order a forum knife but I've never purchased an AAPK forum knife before. These are almost in production and I still don't know exactly what I have to do to buy one. I'm over thinking it, I'm sure. I'm just paranoid that I'll miss out but I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to purchase one if I like the handle material.
I haven't kept on AAPK forum knives from the past. Do they generally sell out fast?

Hi everyone I've only been a member here for a few months but I'd love to have an opportunity to buy a 2017 AAPK knife. Can someone let me know the process please ? Trevor

Re: #35 AAPK Churchill
What's happened in the past is Bryan puts them in his AAPK store and starts a thread which includes a link to the knives. First come, first served and yes, the last couple of years they have gone pretty fast because the last couple of years there have only been appx. 50 made. If you really want one, the best bet is to spend a lot of time on AAPK and keep your eyes open.
