4 3/4" is BIG. GEC #36 Sunfish is 4 1/4" and #46 Whaler is 4 1/2" (some are 4 3/8").
Not unusual for the secondary to be hard to open. A 'blade opener' tool works in this situation.

I forgot about the old rule of thumb measure twice and post once. They made four of these knives for the top people at Queen. This #01 for Ken Daniel's .

New measurement [one RED HAIR over 4 1/2" closed.

# 01, made for Ken Daniels in 2013. Did K.D. take ownership of Queen in 2012 ?
And, there must be a story of how you managed to get this rather special 4 1/2" Sunfish. We like reading knife stories.

I bought this from a dealer who had some very low run knives ,and this Sunfish. I was told that Ken was selling it to get some needed money for retooling. I am sure that the knife was special to him and I think it was extremely unselfish to part with. But the money was used to keep GREAT new pattern of knives coming for collectors like us . The poem with all the people making the knife, and the COA signed by every employee made it feel like a family affair. I know that there are many collectors that care about COA'S but this one is very special, can see the impression of the frame on the edges. Any way I think it was money well spent.

Thanks Adog. It is an interesting story. Shows Mr. Daniels total commitment to making Queen a success. And yes, absolutely that is a real COA and one with a lot of meaning.
