Is the Illinois Lottery still in business?

It's pretty ridiculous that this is a serious question, but due to the State not having a budget for the past 3 years there has been talk of shutting down many government services including the lottery.

It would be easy to base the monthly AAPK Knife Giveaway on a more viable State's lottery (if necessary).

Beautiful knife!

Can't do it in Texas Jerry. They have way to many highway fatalities there. We would be endorsing bad drivers. :D

Yes, Illinois State Lottery is still in business however (as of yesterday) PowerBall and MegaMillions have stopped Illinois from selling tickets for their Lotterys until a state budget is passed. Last year, Illinois tried to put large jackpot payouts on hold until a budget gets passed but a lawsuit was filed and that only lasted for a month or month and a half.

This budget business is all the doing of Democrat Mike Madigan, the speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives. He's all whiney because Bruce Rauner was elected Governor and wants to make some seriously needed changes to Illinois government that would end many benefits the Democrats now enjoy. Madigan is doing everything he can to discredit Rauner and torpedo his governorship. Madigan's daughter, Lisa Madigan is Attorney General for Illinois so two very powerful state offices, working in tandem to destroy the governor and if there is peripheral damage to the state oh well, that's the governor's fault.

You're right, Greg. I'm in Texas and not only are there way too many highway fatalities but there's also lots of city road rage incidents. Must be the HEAT! What ever the reason, we have every inch of our Texas roads covered. So I second the Do Not Endorse!
