Another fake Case Tested whittler?

Post by Mumbleypeg »

Pictures are not very clear. I suspect this is a 70's dotted knife with re-stamped master blade. ::shrug:: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-NICE-CASE- ... SwX61ZBlhc. Any comments welcome, agree or disagree.

I'm pretty new at trying to identify fakes but I think I see a couple of things, let me know if I'm off base. To me it looks like the handles are too thick and the pins seem to be a little rough on the ends. Thanks.

Thanks Bruce. I agree the stag doesn't appear to be from Tested era. I hadn't noticed the pins.

In addition to the other concerns already mentioned, the stamp looks pantographed to me.

The seller also has a Remington R1253 Bullet knife listed that looks suspect to me as well.

It wouldn't bring nearly that much money even it was authentic, which it is not.

I agree, made out of a 70's 6383. Waste of some nice stag.

Since this horrible fake didn't sell the last time, the seller has re-listed it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-NICE-CASE- ... SwX61ZBlhc

The R1253 has fake stamps and fake blade. Huge patch on the front handle but he says "NICE BONE STAG WITHOUT CHIPS OR CRACKS".
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
