Any chance of a sticky for fixed blade Schrades?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Lots of nice ones! Keep 'em coming, guys!
p.s. I had no idea that those bowies were a reasonable size; I was figuring huge.

Here is a quick indoor picture comparing the big Western Bowie to the Schrade Bowie.

Here is another good idea from Ducks Unlimited. A Staglon version of a 160OT Mountain Lion.

I have always liked the 160 pattern; it is unclear to me why it has never gotten much press. Herman did one for me in bone.

Here is a 165OT by our own Orvet, in Sambar stag. It is better in person than my weird scan.

Probably because it is essentially a thinner, lighter version of the 165. I imagine it would field dress a deer faster than a 160 because it is thinner and would have less drag on the cuts.
The only advantage I see with the 165 is for the guy who wants use his knife to break the pelvis. ::dang::
Although why he would want to do that is beyond me. ::shrug::

X2. Actually, in warm weather, I carry a knife to split the sternum to allow some extra cooling. I never split the pelvis.

I'm posting a second picture of my 164UH Badger because the first one came out all fuzzy for some reason when I posted it here. By the time I noticed what happened, it was too late to edit the post. I'm adding another 164UH that I have with different handle slabs on it. I have another one like this that I enjoy using. The other knife is my 162UH Wolverine. I have never used one but they look like a good skinning knife that would keep up with it's cousin, the 152UH Wolverine, (which I have never used either). Truth is, the last few years that I hunted Mule Deer and Antelope I just carried and used an LB7 Bear Paw. The only issue with the LB7 is that it gets slippery as soon as it gets blood and guts on it. I like as small a knife as I can get away with and do the job at hand.

It seems like with filet knives that the 167Uh Steelhead gets the most attention. I have one and it's a fine knife. I bought it for about 20 bucks I think in a clampack at a Gart Sports store that has since gone under, which is sad. But I prefer the 168UH Walleye which is a little shorter and straighter. I keep one in the kitchen drawer. I got this one a couple of years ago from a confused guy on ebay that appeared to have copied and pasted the description from Taylor Brands website. He even posted MADE IN CHINA in big red letters. Well, it wasn't. I picked it up for $25.50 delivered. I like the feel of these types of handles on Schrades. Pictures are from the ebay auction.

The UH fillet knives are classy. I really like a fillet knife in the kitchen. My wife uses the Walleye quite often. I tend toward the Sure Grip fillet knives, myself.

Great Schrade Fixed Blades all!
Glad to see this thread. I'll add to it with my latest, a "Hunter's Pride".
Plus a shot with his "Bowie Hunter" brothers, a 165 in the Guacho sheath, and 125OT and 25OT sheathed also just cause I like those sheaths. :)

Thank you Quick Steel for your kind response.
I believe those sheaths were made by "El Sid" :) out of California for the Sears American series by Schrade.
"Sid" was a very talented leather craftsman and his name makes me smile. :D

That is a rare one. I believe that it was made for Schrade CutCo by Kinfolks. I am saving the image for study. Thanks for showing it! ::tu::

I remember Michael Little (Codger) affirming that they were made in California by El Cid (I think that is the spelling he used); I tried to google them up but didn't have any luck. They are certainly unique robust sheaths. Thanks for showing that crew; very nice knives! ::tu::

Right you are sir, Codger is where I got the info re: the so called "Guacho" sheaths.
I may be wrong, but I think Sid used the historic "El Cid" as his name sake with a minor spelling adjustment.
Again, I

Picked this 165OT up over the weekend. It's a mild user in excellent shape. Surprisingly it's the only 165 I own. It's a chucky monkey for its size but fits perfectly in my gorilla hands. Very slight surface scratching on the blade and a few little patina spots. I like my brass aged no matter the condition new or used. Got drawn for Colorado, waiting on Wyoming and might take a few day trips for deer here in California. Think this 165 is going to be pressed into service this year. Exactly what it was destined to do. ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

Oh don't mind the crumbs. Was eating an grilled antelope loin slider for lunch. ::groove::

A wonderful pattern and one of my favorites. If it had been around in the 1920s Marbles would have a run for their money. ::tu::
