Question about Damascus blades

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Question about Damascus blades

Post by Bullard »

I've never owned a knife with a Damascus blade. I looking at acquiring a case stockman with this type blade. Do these blades require the same type of maintenance that a Case chrome Vanadium blade requires to prevent rust? Are they prone to rust?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, Damascus blades will rust if not properly cared for.
