Cal: There's still a lot of life left in that knife. You will be amazed at the quality of metal the blades have.
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Re: Early Boker Knives
I am sure that you are correct; I carry a 1950s Solingen Boker stockman and I love the way the blades sharpen and cut. I would never take one molecule off this old one; I love the bone; it is beautiful. So far I have not seen the really good old Bokers on ebay; they must be passing on another venue. Out here in the Rocky Mountain West, there are no flea markets and no knife shows. If you want a rifle, here is the place to buy, but knives? Nope.thegreedygulo wrote:Cal: There's still a lot of life left in that knife. You will be amazed at the quality of metal the blades have.
Re: Early Boker Knives
Just got this one. The model and tang stamps say it's an older knife but something just doesn't feel right about it. Maybe it's a lower end job.

Some beautiful Bokers shown in this thread. I've got a few older ones, all three are bone handles, smallest jack is just over 3" and the big one is 4 1/8".

Nice knives Cal! That 4 bladed equal-end cattle knife is not an easy one to find. Congrats.

Re: Early Boker Knives
I researched the Henry Böker Solingen shield on the above two knives and it is believed the shield is from the 1980's, however the tang stamp is pre 1944. I believe the general consensus is these are 1980's era. Böker tricked me again.
