what do I have?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Welcome, hardknocks.
You've got a good serviceable knife.
Hopefully with no side to side play on the blades.

Hi all
Should I clean it up? What is the protocol?
A little side to side play not much.
A guy at the gun/knife show offered me 20 bucks? He said it was never sharpened.
I don't know much about knifes but I have another to show I got from my grandpa.
Thanks
Mike

6265 SAB, "Folding Hunter", made in 1973. Jigged laminated hardwood handles (Pakkawood). A common knife as the 6265 SAB was Case's #1 pattern in terms of volume produced in the 1970's.

Value is mainly as a user, $25 to $50. If in original mint condition an example might bring $50 to $75.

Thanks.
I will just keep it.
I will clean it up and oil it.

I hope you will avoid polishing your knife.
Get a little oil in the joints.
We would love to see pictures of your Grandpas' knife.

Those big ol two blade filding hunters are great knives. Oil the joints, oil the blades good, sharpen it, and use the fool out of it.

Welcome aboard!

I bought one of these at a pawnshop for $15, negotiated down from $25. Blades were full but a little rusty, some oil in the joints and a few minutes on my stone, very sharp again. Tight blades, hard snap. Good old user.
