GEC Addiction
GEC Addiction
Ok, I really have the GEC bug going
Here is the collection so far.
Luckily I am able to make some things and sell them to fund this addiction. Otherwise I would not be buying all these as the wife does not understand.
I think a nice 72 lock back would be next

Thanks! The cherry bone is pretty nice. I was lucky to get it.

Great Eastern makes some really good quality knives. I like them a lot. The third knife from the left, I believe a 77 Yankee Jack, would be my favorite. Very nice collection you have there.

I think folks deserve a better look at that fine kettle of fish. Skooch 'em together a bit and I believe there's room there for a couple more.

Thanks Mike! The 77 gets the most time in my pocket.
Jerry, I'll be posting more pics soon and hopefully adding a couple after the weekend

Re: GEC Addiction
If that's all the GEC you have, then you are in about the bottom 5% of GEC owners. Some people are buying 10 or more of every new release. Lots of people have 100 or more GEC knives.
You barely qualify as an addict. Better get more of them.

Re: GEC Addiction
Is that right? 10 or more of every release. You call that collecting? I call it scalping because they flip them on eBay.

Re: GEC Addiction
Not all are flippers. Many hang on to them. The Traditionals forum at BF has lots of posts with pictures of multiple knives of same pattern from releases long before the posting date.
My point was/is that GEC knives are addicting if you like traditional style knives. I have about 30 but i don't think i am a GEC addict.
GEC's are one of the very few brands that sell at or above original price when on the secondary market, so if you buy 'too many' you can get your money back, sometimes more. A concerned spouse could be informed that you are "investing".

Addict sounds like a harsh word. Color me a big fan of GEC. I'll just say I've been paying full attention to what comes from them for several years now.
Nice collection you have there.

Very nice collection you have going there. You are 2 knives ahead of me on the GEC's but I'll be adding more as my funds allow. There have been many, I mean MANY, that I have wanted but a men has to exercise restraint.
