Wife received some not great news.

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Wife received some not great news.

Post by Colonel26 »

Those of you who have been around for a while know that Valerie has had some health issues over the past few years and would get some relief from her chronic pain and lack of energy for a while and then it would return. Nothing we have tried has worked long term. The other day we finally got some answers.

Valerie has MS.

It's not as serious as it could be, but this is as good as she'll probably ever be. She has started treatments, praise God for good insurance, and hopefully it will maintain her MS where it currently is. But we won't know if it's working for a year they tell us.

She's usually pretty good in the mornings and afternoons. In the evening as she gets tired she has some pretty serious nerve pain and fatigue. Her night vision has been affected a little too.

We're glad to finally have some answers. But we'd sure appreciate any extra prayers y'all could spare.

Thanks guys.

I'm sorry to learn of this Wade, you'll be remembered in my daily devotional and prayers. God is good and delivers in many different ways and not always according to our plans but be strong for your family and rely on your family here should you need a shoulder.

Wade my friend. So sorry to hear this.As bad as it is, thankful it is not worse. I remember a few years back when I talked to her when we were looking for the Paw replacement knife for you. She is a great lady for sure.
Prayers sent to you and yours.
Let me know if there is any way I can help my friend.

Wade, I will keep Valarie in my prayers.
I will also bring her to our Prayer team, (we meet every Monday).

Dan, one of the guys on the prayer team, HAD MS. It is medically documented and he was treated for it for several years.
Alter a lot of prayer Dan no longer had MS, even his doctor says he definitely does not have MS. The doctor is rather chagrined to have to admit that Dan no longer has MS. The doctor is not a believer and was at a loss to explain why Dan symptoms of MS were improving. Dan told him "Well the Lord...", the doctor says, "I don't want to hear it."
After 4 years of watching Dan's MS get worse to where he was in a wheelchair and then improved to where today he walks without a cane and without braces and in spite of the deterioration of the muscles in his hands Dan can play the guitar again. The doctor is at a total loss to explain how that could be but he is unwilling to admit that there is a God and that God could have anything to do with the improvement in Dan's condition. But the doctor has admitted that Dan definitely does not have MS anymore, Even though he cannot explain it.

We serve a mighty God and he is far bigger than MS!
Dan, the rest of the prayer team and I will be praying for Valerie!

Wade, real sorry to hear about this. I know that Val had been dealing with some medical issues. My sister-in-law has MS, and we didn't know what to expect when she was initially diagnosed. So far, they have been able to keep things in check with medication, and you wouldn't know she had it unless she told you.

I hope that Val can get the necessary treatments to allow her to go about her normal routine and be pain-free. I will surely say some prayers for you and your family, Wade.

Thanks guys they're appreciated. She is giving herself shots 3 times a week right now. The docs say it will take up to a year to see if they halt or improve her condition. Today is shot number 4 and she's had quite a bit of nausea and nerve pain. But from what we're reading that's common until her body adjusts to the meds.

One day at a time, one day at a time.

Thanks Big H. We're dealing with it. Had some changes around the house, but we're going to "endeavor to preserve." Lol

He's sir. We're doing PT, exercises at home, as soon as she's able yoga has been recommended, getting steroid shots as needed, seeing a pain specialist, and she's on a drug therapy for the MS.

We're attacking it from all fronts.

Thank you all for the prayers.
