That is a very nice harness jack. Almost unbelievable condition for its age. I like the harness jack pattern but so far I only have one. They are hard to find!

The info in LG4 indicates Valley Forge was a knife manufacturer c1892-1899, and that it was purchased by Boker U.S.A. in 1899. Boker then used the logo of VF in a circle for a line of knives they called "Valley Forge" made up until 1950.
Were the "VF" line of knives a more premium knife than those marked "Boker U.S.A." ?
And is there a way to date a circle VF knife within the 1899-1950 time span ?
Very fine OP knife. An original etch that is still full adds greatly to a knife's attractiveness.

Yes, the etch makes this quite clear.
I cannot recall ever seeing an original "Valley Forge" knife (1892-99).

Absolutely gorgeous knife

As I recall the VF in a circle started to appear around 1916. It was placed on the back of the tang of the primary blade (pile facing side). I have a few Valley Forge folders without the VF in circle marking making them supposedly produced prior to 1916. Mine have straight line tang stamps Valley Forge/Cutlery Co./Newark, N. J. The secondary blade tangs also have three line addresses Valley/Forge/Cutlery Co. Lloyd
