The EZ Open pattern

Was wondering if anyone knew the history of the Easy Open pattern (EZ) also when it was introduced and what company 1st introduced it and such.
I happen to be a big fan of this pattern!!!
Also feel free to post some of your EZ Openers!

That's a good question. I don't really know who was first..

..but, I've seen the feature on WWl Navy issue knives. Maybe someone will know.

This is one of my favorite patterns. I read that the pattern was made for the working man. A farmer or a laborer could open it with gloves on.
Here is one of my favorites, a NYKCo, Hammer Brand and the etch is visible on the spear blade. Also a nice Remington.

Well the ones I have pictured from left to right top to bottom are a:
Camillus EZ open patter with bail.
Imperial: EZ open pattern missing bail
Brantford Cutlery
Zenith Cutlery or Marshall Wells Hardware Cutlery: (Both are the same, each blade stamped differently

All of mine are natural bone, which I am a huge fan of the design. Would love to see the pattern re-introduced through GEC or Canal Street, as I would surely buy a newer pattern of this knife. As to the history, it still remains a mystery to me!!!

Thanks for showing them. Here are two more to add. The first one was made by Rawson Bros. The second is stamped Parkin & Marshall XL-ALL. With a stainless blade, this knife was made after Michael Hunter acquired the name and trademark in 1910. Most likely 1920s or early 30s as stamping blades with stainless was common practice to differentiate them from the typical carbon blades.

The etch on my NYKCo easy open showed so poorly that I decided to post a shot of it here.
Also, here is a jos. Rodgers with ivory. I always thought it was a little inconsistent to put ivory on a working man's knife but still nice.

Here is a close up of the handles on the Rodgers. The only condition is that you reveal how you get the answers so fast on the Trivia Game!

I saw the Terrier Brand come up in a post this week so will post a photo of my Terrier Easy Open. It is so big it is hard to imagine.

Here is an Imperial made EZ Open that I have. I could have sworn that I heard these were included in some of the USN Aircrew Survival Kits during WWII, anyone here know anything about that?

Just happen to have pic handy that meets this threads requirements. This is an Albertson Cutlery, Kane PA., the last company to make knives in Kane. It was kane Cutlery, Hollingsworth then Albertson. Only one I have ever seen, and beleive me, I LOOK. enjoy

Here's a few from my collection:
A Case Bradford easy opener.The master blade was a rope pattern originally but must have been damaged at some point and was reground.The Schatt& Morgan was the identical pattern(second knife)
A George Schrade wire jack from an early Girl Scout kit.
A Challenge Cutlery Co. easy opener in near mint condition.
A York Cutlery Co. Germany easy opener with a radical cut out.
