I believe they go back into the 60's too as I believe my 1965 catalog has them pictured.

Truly a shame too.

German cutlery is terrific, what have we missed from there by making these knife types illegal?

It´s all about the bloody politicians fishing for votes! Germany has one of the strictest weapons laws anyway. Next will be kitchen knives and scissors I suppose.... ::facepalm::

This is a Junkerwerk Solingen knife. It's about 4.5 inches closed and close to 8 inches long when it is open. I don't know too much about it, but if anyone wants to volunteer some information I would appreciate it. Like I'd be curious to know why there's a stamp C 12 on one side and a C 16 on the other. Also the value which probably isn't a whole lot.

Nice old German knife! The C12 and C16 are shotgun gauges. The bolsters on that knife are shotshell pullers. ::nod::

Your German shell puller was actually made by Bontgen & Sabin (Bonsa.)

Miller Bros,
Thanks, but it's actually a piece of junk. The name says so JUNKerwerk. I'm kidding it's a nice knife.

Please do me a favor and look at the Marbles safety folding hunter that I posted in knife related Q&A. I think it's a great knife too bad the stag is cracked.

Hello to all! I am new here, my name is Darek. I owned one of the SB Knives Pictured here when I was a teenager. It is the very first all stainless steel pictured one. Can someone Please tell me the make & model if possible? I would like to find another like it. It brings back great memories, but unfortuneately mine was stolen way back then in the seventies.

(Not the one directly above this post, but the one at the very beginning of this thread)...Thanks!

Wow Wiseguy, that is one great looking Auto if I ever saw one! Love the spearpoint blade. Bonsa s are even rare to find here in their homecountry.

Here is my latest auto;a Bonsa Springer in pretty decent shape except for a bit of rust(mostly cleaned away now)and a small piece of scale missing from the scale near the center rivet on the pile side.I have it soaking in PB Blaster at the moment trying to see if will open a bit easier.Virtually no side play in the blade and that may be the cause of the opening problem.

Sadly, the tip on the marlin spike is bent. Is it worth trying to straighten/regrind the tip, or leave it as a "character" mark?

Nice catch Tom!I think the tip of the spike should be fairly easy to straighten. The steel isn't usually hard as a knife blade.I have a small brass hammer that I normally use to straighten pieces such as this on the flat of a bench vise.

Use lithium automotive grease, not oil, on the Bonsa tang. You won't believe the difference it will make!
