oregon,

I don't have the Brass Hawkbill but I did see one with Dynamite Fuse Advertisement on it at a Gun Show. The knife was Mint and the seller wanted $250.00 ::teary_eyes::

Here are a few more from my collection that you don't see everyday, Early Chow Kit & Boker ::nod::

Ohhhhhh, now that is something to see. The early, two-piece, Scout Chow Kit. Was the guard in the knife's handle painted? Who needs a spoon anyway. Wow. Thank you kindly for the photos.

The tang stamp on the Boker Hawksbill is quite sharp and easy to read. Boker bought Geo Schrade Co. in 1956 and it was run by Theodore Schrade. In 1958 the business ended when switchblades were legislated to be illegal.

Here is a Boker USA Wire Jack. The tang etch is all but invisible. I believe that acid was used to do the etch and not a stamp from a die:

Hi all....... Have any of you seen a 2 bladed wire jack? I have 1 I got
a while back. I can not find it in the George Schrade book, I don't
know if it is legit or not both blades are marked wire jack over pat.
over 9-21-26.

Excellent Wire Jack. Unique in my experience. Thank you for posting the photos. The blades must rotate within a larger-than-usual channel cut into the end of the wire handle. I would love to see that close-up. The pivot pin would have to be longer, of course. If you have another Wire Jack you could compare how both pivot pins are set (folded over on the ends) and how the channels are cut in which the blades rotate. Are they similar or different is the question you want to answer.

The 9-21-26 pat date is a George Schrade patent date and not his son's (George passed away in 1940).

Is the knife the same size as the Scout Wire Jacks, about 3 inches closed?

Glen has the most extensive collection of these gems. His contact info can be found on his site. Just Google "guycard" and you are there (I hesitate to put his email here for privacy/spam reasons unrelated to your question, sorry for the bother). He is a terrific fellow and has been a tremendous help to me. Thank you kindly Glen. He very well may have seen multi-bladed Wire Jacks, or even have some, like yours. If you give him a ping please let us know what you find out.

I've double checked and I don't have any Wire Jacks with the 1926 pat. stamp so I can't give you a photo of the pin or channel cut, unfortunately. I'd like to acquire one with that pat. date.

I attented the Annual Kershaw Factory sale and bot this bamboo display box, $10, and figured it would be cool to put the Geo Schrade Wire Jacks on the red carpet where they belong (lucky me, I also bot a ZT 561 brown elmax Hinderer collaboration flipper, $100).

They look comfy. Lonesome for a large spearpoint Geo Schrade Wire Jack, but comfy on the velvet. :D

Thank you for looking.

Hello all...... Oregon took some more pictures with the regular '26 spear cap lifter
and my 2 blade '26. Both have rounded hinge pins as does your Boker, the size is
3 3/13 for the regular, and 3 1/4 for the 2 blade. The difference in size is caused
by the spacer between the blades. BTW love that wire jack ax!
Will contact Glen soon.
Thanks

This is my first post on AAPK as I'm active on another forum and some Facebook groups. Almost everything I know about Schrade wire jacks I've learned here. This is my collection of a knife I consider a custom knife as to its design and manufacturing techniques.

From what I know I'm missing the large hawkbill (possible) and the copper blade and the axe (unicorns). The two small hawkbills are the Schrade and a Boker. There are the Boy and Girl Scout mess kits. The Boy Scout has the original box which as you can see sold for $2 at J.C. Penney. All the forks are mismarked with the patent date of 1/72/42 as is common. One thing I did notice is my large clip point, which is like new, doesn't have the rough ridges that I normally see on the large patterns.
Thanks Steve (oregon)

That is a VERY nice collection. The only "odd" wire jack I have is a yellow handled one. It is an advertising knife for Gold Medal Crackers (last 5 pictures). I couldn't find ANY info on it. I think it may have been a sales sample. I obtained the wire handle hawkbill yesterday (1st 4 pics). The pictures of the hawkbill are the ones the seller posted. ::tu::

Well my hawkbill wire handle pocket knife arrived today. I gave it a very gentle cleaning and I got quite an unexpected surprise.
First, here is the way the seller described the knife: "Schrade Wire Jack Knife Hawksbill Pocket Knife Vintage Rare Antique PAT 9-21-28. Condition is used, what you see is what you get. Thank you for stopping by and happy bidding, please check out my other items." The seller's pictures of the knife are in the previous post (above) by me. After the cleaning, I discovered that there were etchings on each side of the blade. On one side it says, ATLAS BISON (over) BOARD PRODUCTS with a figure holding a board with a globe on top of it between the wording. The other side of the blade says CENTRAL FIBRE PRODUCTS CO. (over) INCORPORATED. Both are barely legible, but can be read with a magnifying glass. I did manage to get some of both to show up in the pictures. This makes a most welcome addition to my wire handle knives. BRIDGEPORT being spelled out on the tang stamp was a bonus also.
CLICK THE PICTURES TO ENLARGE. :D ::tu:: ::ds::

I literally just won this knife. Another Geo Schrade wire handle Hawkbill Pruner. Looks to be in rough condition, but might clean up nice. The pictures are the seller's. I will post my pictures when I receive and clean the knife.

Here's my one and only wirejack. I got it in a lot of 5 knives off EBay. Only paid $25 for the 5 and one was a Buck that's at the factory now for a spa treatment.

I've cleaned this up a bit but my question is how far should I go? I got the active rust off it and stopped. Also do you think this was part of a Scout mess kit? Cool knives!

I don't go too crazy cleaning mine. Just enough to make them look presentable. I'd leave yours where it is. Yes, I do believe that your knife was part of a Boy Scout Utensil Kit. They are cool little knives. ::tu::

This seller wants $75 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/old-antique-vi ... SwMURarkiI

This seller wants $40 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Geo-Sc ... OSwLh5dFr7~

This seller wants $33 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-GEO-SCHRAD ... SwFTVdBqV2

It depends how badly you want something. $75 for a scout mess kit utensil? I wouldn't pay that much unless it is the last one in existence. It isn't.

Agree! I didn't see the other two, just the $75 one. I think the $33 is probably more in line with what these are worth. It's kind of jacked up though. Missing the internal guard and the frame looks sprung. Then again I'd never seen one until I got the one I have.

Sometimes you can get the whole scout utensil kit, knife, fork & spoon, plus the leather or vinyl carrying pouch, for less than what some sellers want for just the knife. There are some on eBay right now.

These are what I have, so far. I'm pretty sure I didn't pay over $30 for any of them.

Very nice collection! They all appear to be in very good condition. I'd be curious to know if this type of knife was common/popular. They're not something you run across very often. At least not me.
