Knife Pass?

Post by TripleF »

“What if this knife could talk”, we’ve wondered on more than one occasion. That got me to thinking….

What if we could know exactly what a given knife had been through. What states it was in. What it cut. What temperatures it endured. Who cleaned it with what? Who sharpened it? And so on……….

What if we did a knife pass and posted our experiences with a particular knife; whether we cut twigs for a marshmallow roast, or carried it to work or hunting with us, or used it to gut a duck, whatever.

The way it would work is, each participant would have the knife for say....... 2 weeks. They’d post updates in this thread with as many pics as possible and then mail it to the next participant, and so on until everybody who signed up had the knife and the last person would send it back to me.

What do ya think?

That sure sounds like something I would like to do if I would be permitted.

I look at it this way, the 8 guys in front of me will set the standard for what kind of abuse this unsuspecting (and likely undeserving ::suspense:: ) piece of cutlery should be subjected to.
Whereas Ol' Johnnierotten might find hisself wanting to take it easy on the hummble hip hatchet on account of saving some for the next guy, by the time it gets to me, the next guys already done had his way with her, and I'll have a much better idea of how she handles! Guys this might be one of the rarer situations where being last in line might be a plus! 8)

Which bring me to this question.......that's been banging around in my head the last few days -
Should I start this with a brand new unused knife?

Well, maybe I just answered myself by posting it here......if it's brand new, it would be all AAPK members who experience.

Thanks for helping me answers that one guys! ::paranoid::
