Mississippi boy here
Good morning gents.....(and ladies if there are any here)
My name is Kerry Elliott and I live in Mississippi. I started buying knives when the ammo shortage hit a few years ago. I don't consider myself a collector because I really try not to buy anything that I would not carry in my pocket. I love stockman style knives and I have an affection for German steel. When I was a kid, we lived next door to my dad's boss. He was a big game hunter and a knife collector. I can remember him showing me some of his knives. He kept them in tackle boxes in his shop. I have no idea how many he had, but it had to have been hundreds.
Anyway, he introduced me to Kissing Crane, Hen & Rooster, Eye Brand and some others. He even gave me an Eye Brand that I still have. It was very sharp and difficult to open. My dad put it up so I would not hurt myself with it.
I have around 100 knives, none of which are anything really special, but I just love knives.

Welcome, Kerry! The Eye Brand knives have been especially popular in TX and they are high quality. And I love your ride. We have at least one Mississippian here, Mike; maybe he will see this.

I have bought another smaller Eye Brand (both being clodbusters). I am really wanting to find an Eye Brand stockman. I have seen a couple in the store here and may have to purchase one.

Look for one with three mentions of eyes in combination with the blade etch and the tang stamp. Known as "Three Eyes." My opinion. I released some of these that some collectors would die for (so to speak).

Sounds like you've got a good start on being addicted to knives. You'll enjoy being here, lot's of information and opinions but most always very civil.

I lived in Huntsville Alabama for a few years. That's where I learned that LA was lower Alabama.treefarmer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:39 pmto AAPK, Kerry!
